Ordering THCA flower online is legal, common, and easy to get wrong. The product looks identical whether it was grown indoors last month or sat in a warehouse for a year, and the label says whatever the seller wants it to say. This is the checklist we use ourselves.
1. Confirm it is legal to ship to your state
THCA flower is hemp under the 2018 Farm Bill because it tests under 0.3% delta-9 THC by dry weight before it is heated. That makes it federally legal to sell and ship. States are a different matter. A growing number restrict THCA specifically, either by counting total THC or by banning intoxicating hemp products outright. Any legitimate seller will refuse to ship to those states and will say so on the product page. If a site ships THCA everywhere with no exceptions, that is a warning sign, not a convenience.
We list restricted states on every product and check the address at checkout.
2. Ask for the certificate of analysis for that batch
The single most important document is the COA, the lab report for the flower you are actually buying. It should:
- Come from an accredited third-party lab, not the seller.
- Name the strain and a batch or lot number that matches the jar.
- Be dated within the last 12 months.
- Show the full cannabinoid panel: THCA, delta-9 THC, and total THC.
- Show pass results for pesticides, heavy metals, residual solvents, mycotoxins and microbials, not just potency.
A COA that only reports potency was ordered to make a number, not to prove the flower is clean. We publish the full panel for every batch on our lab reports page.
3. Read total THC, not the THCA percentage
Sellers advertise the THCA number because it is bigger. What you feel after heating is total THC, which is THCA multiplied by 0.877 plus any delta-9 already present. A jar labelled "28% THCA" is roughly 24.5% total THC. That is still strong flower; just compare like with like.
4. Know what a fair price looks like
For lab-tested indoor THCA flower in 2026, expect roughly:
- 3.5 grams: $35 to $55
- 7 grams: $65 to $95
- 14 grams: $110 to $170
- 28 grams: $190 to $300
Greenhouse flower runs about a third less. Prices far below these ranges usually mean outdoor flower, old stock, or flower that was never tested. Prices far above them are paying for marketing. Our THCA flower starts around $40 for 3.5 grams and the ounce cuts the per-gram price by about a third.
5. Check how it was grown and cured
Indoor flower under controlled light and climate produces denser buds, heavier trichome coverage and more consistent terpenes. Greenhouse flower is a good value alternative. What matters more than either label is the cure: flower that was dried slowly and cured for weeks keeps its terpenes and smokes smooth. Flower that was rushed smells like hay. Product photos should show the actual strain, and strain pages should name the dominant terpenes. If every strain on a site has the same stock photo, move on.
6. Make sure the seller answers the basic questions
Before you order, the site should tell you, in plain text on the product page:
- The cannabinoid and potency range.
- The dominant terpenes and the type (indica, hybrid, sativa).
- Where it was grown and whether it is indoor or greenhouse.
- The sizes, the price per gram, and whether it is in stock.
- Which states it ships to.
- A link to the COA.
If you have to email to find out whether something is in stock or where the lab report is, that is a sign of how the rest of the order will go.
7. Expect discreet, fast shipping
THCA flower ships by USPS or UPS in sealed, odor-proof packaging with the COA inside. Orders should leave within one business day. Age verification at checkout (21 and over) is normal and required; a site that does not verify age is not following the rules it will need to follow for you.
Where to start
If you want a short list rather than a checklist: pick a strain by the effect you want, confirm the state restriction, open the COA, and check the total THC. Our strain directory explains every cultivar we grow, and each THCA flower product page lists the facts above in one place.
Frequently asked questions
Is it legal to buy THCA flower online? Yes at the federal level under the 2018 Farm Bill, provided it tests under 0.3% delta-9 THC by dry weight. Several states restrict THCA products, and reputable sellers will not ship there.
What is the best place to buy THCA flower online? A grower or brand that publishes a full-panel, batch-specific COA, states which states it ships to, lists price per gram and stock in plain text, and shows real photos of its own flower.
Can I buy THCA flower on Amazon? No. Amazon does not permit THCA or CBD flower. Buy direct from a hemp brand.
How much THCA flower can I order? There is no federal limit for hemp. Most sellers cap orders at an ounce or two per strain for stock reasons.
Will THCA flower show up on a drug test? Yes. Once heated it is THC, and regular use will produce the same metabolites as cannabis. Do not use it if you are tested.
